Ha!!! The funny thing with this...singers use it all the time. Neti pots are the thing to have where I work. Just for the record, I don't have one. Not a singer. Hilarious video. It does look ridiculous.
I know someone who uses a squeeze-bottle version of this, and for the last two years she has not had a cold nor does she sound congested like she often did with her allergies. She uses hers when she take a shower.
On a related note, I watched a person on David Letterman put a gold necklace down her nostril and take it out of her mouth. Really.
I was eating spaghetti once, and felt some weird pressure in my nose. Before I knew it out of the nose came a speghetti noodle. It was the grossest feeling.
Oh, my goodness! Were you eating it while hanging upside down? Or snarfing it in so fast that it backed up in there? Dang, Jus Me, that's disgusting. Although if you could do it at will, I bet Letterman would fly you up there for the show.
I have had some odds and ends of food and drink come out during a coughing fit or bad hiccups. :)
